Description
First data logger for monitoring shock/vibration according to transport standard
A unique function is the shock/vibration test according to transport standard IEC 60721-3-2: The data logger compares vibrations and shocks with the selected class and standard. This makes the testing of transport conditions much easier and as simple as proving compliance with a cold chain! For companies, this results in a real advantage: for the first time, transport damage can be verified cost-effectively and without specialist knowledge. The implementation of this innovation brought the ASPION G-Log 2 and its waterproof variant the victory at the Best of Industry Award 2022 in the category sensor technology.

Application areas of the transport data loggers
The new ASPION G-Log 2 Waterproof – as a waterproof variant of the ASPION G-Log 2 – was developed especially for the transport monitoring of sensitive goods and merchandise outdoors, without outer packaging and for use in harsh working environments. Especially manufacturers in the machine and plant construction, the energy sector or in the automotive and electronics industry benefit from the valuable information recorded by the shock and climate data logger. Shock recording can be optionally switched off via the PC software, making the data logger also suitable for monitoring temperature- and humidity-sensitive products during transport and in the warehouse. Climate data such as temperature and relative humidity are recorded on an interval and event basis using intelligent algorithms.
Operation
The ASPION G-Log 2 Waterproof shock and climate data logger is attached directly to the transported goods, initialized with threshold values and/or transport standard and class and activated immediately or time-controlled. Over the entire transport duration, it stores occurring events: Shocks and impacts, temperature and humidity fluctuations that lie outside the preset tolerance limits – or continuously at the set interval. The data can be read, evaluated and transferred at any time via smartphone app using NFC and Bluethooth. Afterwards, the data can be conveniently analyzed with the free PC software. With the use of the premium service, activation via the smartphone app is also possible worldwide in a process-safe manner.
Meaningful details at millisecond level
For the interpretation and evaluation in the event of damage, the data of a shock event in detail are particularly important. The sensor records the temporal course of a shock on all three axes at millisecond level. This section of a total of 19 values is used for exact analysis of the course, allows conclusions to be drawn about the effects and can make a significant contribution to the evaluation in the event of damage and for packaging optimization. The sensor stores both the very first shock and the other eight highest shocks separately at this resolution. This gives ASPION shock data loggers a unique level of detail that is unparalleled among data loggers in the same price segment.
